PLC Plans Activities for next 6+ months.

The recently elected Patrol Leader Council (PLC) met in August 2023 to propose Troop activities for the next 6-18 months. The PLC, newly elected in early July, met soon after Troop 788’s return from Camp Emerald Bay on Santa Catalina Island, CA.

Some highlights of the planned activities are a September 5-mile map & compass hike on the Palos Verdes peninsula; October Webelos Woods campout and support, a game night, and shooting sports day; November Kayaking; the December family holiday party. In 2024, planned activities include a Troop-hosted Webelos field day, an introductory backpacking campout, rock climbing at Joshua Tree Natl. Park, a Scout skills field day in San Pedro, Pacifica District Camporee, model rocket launch day, West LA Memorial Day Flag Placement participation, Kern River Rafting the same weekend, Ham Radio Field Day with the Northrop Grumman radio club, and summer camp (location to be determined. The unique Troop tradition of riding ice blocks down a nearby park hillside generally occurs on the Troop meeting night before school resumes after summer break.

Service activities are sure to include one or more beach clean-up mornings, Scout Eagle rank service projects, and others.
